Apple Music and Spotify are two of the most popular music streaming services available today. Both offer great libraries of music, but they work in different ways. If you're a fan of Apple Music and want to switch to Spotify, or vice versa, you'll need to know how to transfer your playlists between the two services. We'll show you how to do it.
looking to switch from Apple Music to Spotify?
There often comes a time when you're looking to switch music providers. Maybe you've discovered one has features you really want, or maybe you want to take advantage of a promotional offer. The only issue is that taking your playlists and albums with you can be a bit of a hassle. Thankfully, there is actually an app for that. So if you're looking to switch from Apple Music to Spotify, for example, you can do so with the help of the app called "MusConv." This app allows you to easily transfer your music from one platform to another - all you need is the login information for both your Apple Music and Spotify accounts.
Get SongShift and link your accounts
To transfer your playlists from Apple Music to Spotify, you'll need an app called SongShift. It's available on the App Store for iPhone, so be sure to download it before getting started. After downloading SongShift, the next step is to open the app and to set up your music services. SongShift supports a lot of different music services, including Apple Music and Spotify. To get started, sign in to your Apple Music and Spotify accounts and link them together. Once they're linked, SongShift will do all the work for you!
Transfer your playlists
Now comes the fun part: selecting your playlists! After you've tapped the '+' icon to start a new transfer, you'll be taken to a screen where you can toggle 'Multiple Playlists' on. This will allow you to select more than one playlist at a time. Once your source has been linked, tap the '+' icon at the top of the screen to start a new Shift. From there, choose Apple Music as your source. You'll see all of your playlists appear in the next screen. Simply toggle the ones you want to transfer over to Spotify and hit 'Done'.
The next step
Once you've downloaded the Export Apple Music playlist tool, the next step is to choose which playlists to transfer. Depending on how many playlists you have, it could take a little time to match and generate your new playlists. The only playlist we found it fail on was one of the largest with nearly 1000 songs in it. It seemed to give up after 500 songs. However, if you have a smaller playlist, it's likely the process will be completed without any hiccups.
Making the switch from one music streaming service to another can be a hassle, but it's worth it when you find the right one for you. SongShift is an app that makes the process of transferring your playlists from one service to another a breeze, so you don't have to lose any of your favorite songs in the process. All you need is a SongShift account and a Spotify account, and you can start transferring your playlists right away.
