Introduction:
Apple Watch is a very popular wearable device. Many Apple Watch users want to know how to fast charge their Apple Watch. In this blog post, we will show you how to fast charge your Apple Watch Series 7.
Will my old charging puck fast charge the Series 7?
The Apple Watch Series 7 has a brand new, slimmer design. Unfortunately, that also means the charging puck is different. The good news is that if you have the old charging puck, you can still use it to charge your watch. The bad news is that it won't charge your watch as quickly as the new puck or the new USB-C charging cable. If you want to take advantage of the fast-charging feature, you'll need to purchase one of those two items. The USB-C charging cable is included with the Series 7, but if you want an extra or if you misplaced your cable, you can always buy it separately from Apple for $29. The recently-released charger that has been optimized to fast charge the Series 7 is a little more difficult to find; it usually retails for around $50.
Are there any third-party USB-C wall adapters that are capable of these fast charging speeds?
In the past two years, Apple has stopped shipping many of its products (including iPhones, Apple Watches and AirPods) with the required all adapter to charge them. This was part of an environmental initiative to fight climate change. This has sparked a thriving ecosystem of manufacturers of third-party USB-C chargers. While Apple does sell a 29W USB-C Power Adapter, it is not capable of fast charging the new Apple Watch Series 7. So, if you want to be able to fast charge your Series 7, you'll need to purchase a third-party USB-C wall adapter.

But my old charging puck will still charge the Series 7, right?
If you're using the Apple Watch Series 7 charger with your Series 7, it'll charge the watch at full speed. But if you're using an older puck-style charger with your Series 7, it'll charge at a reduced speed. That's because the Series 7's charger is able to output 18 watts of power, while the older puck-style chargers are only capable of outputting 12 watts. So, if you're looking to fast charge your Series 7, make sure you're using the appropriate charger.
Will third-party 3-in-1 chargers fast charge my Series 7?
Unfortunately, if your 3-in-1 charger was released before the Series 7 came out in September 2021, it most likely won't support the fast charging speeds for the smartwatch. However, that doesn't mean all hope is lost. A lot of these third-party manufacturers are releasing new — or upgraded — versions of their wireless chargers to take advantage of the new charging speeds. For example, Belkin has released a couple of new-and-improved wireless chargers, like the Boost Up Charge Pro 3-in-1, which can output 40-watts of power and simultaneously charge your iPhone and AirPods.
Will Apple's MagSafe Duo charge the Series 7 at its fastest speed?
Unfortunately, the MagSafe Duo doesn't support the Series 7's new fast charging capabilities. In fact, at the time of writing this, most of the Apple Watch chargers that Apple sells don't support the Series 7's new fast charging capabilities. However, Apple is likely going to have to come out with an updated MagSafe Duo to support these fast charging speeds. Stay tuned—we'll update this article as soon as we have more information!
Conclusion:
Apple Watch Series 7 users can take advantage of a fast charging feature available on the latest model. This how-to guide will answer all of the questions you may have about how to take advantage of this feature, including whether or not older charging pucks will work and which chargers are compatible.
