I bought this remote control car for my 8-year-old grandson. I charged the batteries that came with the car and put the AA batteries in the remote before giving it to him. The AA batteries didn't last a day, so I'd suggest that you have extras on hand. The rechargeable batteries work fine. He loves it!!!!!!! It does everything that it says it does. I would highly recommend it.
